CTP Insurance Quotes. How to Get Cheaper Greenslips

If you are looking around to get CTP insurance quotes, there are two websites
that will help you make comparisons, one in NSW
MAA Greenslip Price Comparison and
one in Queensland
Queensland CTP Insurance Quote Comparison. The pricing of CTP insurance in
each state is based on the broad risk characteristics of the motor vehicle
population. In each territory prices vary by type of vehicle, and then may vary
by a number of other risk factors. Prices are reassessed at least annually in
NSW and quarterly in Queensland.
Remember that Greenslips are based on driver, not the car. You have to be
careful when shopping for quotes as they are more susceptible to insurance
variables than comprehensive premiums. Big green slip payouts by the insurance
firms mean hikes in prices. Don't always go for the big guys either.
The NRMA is the biggest CTP provider in NSW, followed by the GIO, but they
are not always the cheapest.
The E-Safety Check Inspection Station
The "e-safety Check Inspection Station" is an RTA initiative to encourage
inspection stations to forward them your compliant pinkslip via the internet.
Since 1 July 2008, e-Safety Check has replaced the traditional paper-based
inspection scheme (pink slips). All Authorised Inspection Stations now transmit
the inspection report to the RTA electronically. By transmitting e-Safety Check
inspection results electronically to the
RTA, you can renew your registration
online with
MyRego or over the phone.
This ensures they receive notice of your vehicles compliance virtually
immediately. Once you have acquired the greenslip and the insurer has also
notified the RTA via the internet, you are able to complete your registration
via the RTA website.

It does not provide cover for personal injury sustained by you or the driver
of your vehicle or damage to property or other vehicles.
If you are injured in an accident that is not your fault, you can claim against
the other driver's Green Slip insurance.
The same cover is provided by the insurers under the NSW Motor Accidents
Compensation Scheme. The important things is that the premiums will differ
so it is worth your while to shop around.
The above CTP Green Slip providers are licensed by the Motor Accidents Authority
(MAA) to provide Green Slip insurance.
